Neurological Physical Therapy with Body Weight Support System (BWS)

The Sense Living offers physiotherapy programs in neurological and physical therapy for the elderly.

One of the walking aids we have is called Body Weight Support System (BWS).

Body Weight Support System or support aids is a supporting device with wheels being used for walking practice on smooth ground. The system can also be used for walking practice on a treadmill.

The study found that walk training during the first 3 months in hemiplegia patients who are unable to walk on their own - using this walking aid can help increase chances of recovery than relying on just the physical therapist. In addition, the walking aid is safer in training, giving the patients more confidence in walking, reducing the fear of falling and therefore are suitable for those who are unable to walk by themselves yet or for anyone with history of falls and wants to practice walking.
